George’s Bar on Derry's Bishop Street recently held a charity night to raise funds to purchase a defibrillator for Alexander House. With live music and spot prizes on the night, they successfully raised £2,000 for the life-saving equipment. Alexander House, also located on Bishop Street, provides sheltered accommodation and Housing with Care for people aged over 60; it is owned and managed by Apex Housing Association. Pictured with the defibrillator fundraised by George’s Bar are Alexander House tenants, Margaret Stainsby (left) and Ann Burke (centre), with Senior Support Worker Gerry Harnett.
