Assistant manager Tarr praises squad's resilience in a highly physical encounter as Boston secures all three points

The Boston Emeralds have extended their impressive unbeaten run following a hard-fought 3-0 victory against SCU.

The Emeralds set the tempo early, finding the back of the net in the opening minutes of the match to establish an early lead. Despite a highly competitive and physical encounter, the side secured all three points five minutes from the final whistle after converting a late penalty.

Reflecting on the team's performance, Boston Emeralds assistant manager Kevin Tarr acknowledged the gritty nature of the contest.

"This wasn’t the prettiest of games; it was a very scrappy game, yet we still felt confident in coming away with a win," said Tarr. "It was not the most perfect of performances, but a winning performance nonetheless."

The match was overshadowed by a serious first-half incident that resulted in a severe head injury to the SCU goalkeeper. The player required immediate medical attention on the pitch before being transported to hospital by emergency medics.

Tarr extended the full support of the Boston Emeralds team to the injured player and his club.

"I just want to wish the goalkeeper a speedy recovery. It was a real nasty injury and wasn’t nice for all to watch - a real sad moment in the game," Tarr stated. "Our club will be in touch with SCU to get updates on how he is doing, and we deeply hope he makes a full recovery."

The unbeaten Emeralds now shift their focus to next week's highly anticipated home fixture at BC High Stadium. The match promises high drama as the management team of Kevin Tarr and Keegan Hegarty prepare to face their former team, the Jaguars, for the first time this season.
