Met Éireann issues warnings with five counties pinpointed for battering
Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow Wind warning for five counties as strong and gusty southwest winds are forecast.
Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo have been pinpointed for the warning with waves overtopping being the main impact of the strong winds.
The warning is in place from 8am tomorrow morning, Wednesday January 31, until 1pm tomorrow afternoon.
Weather overall will be dry and mainly sunny today with light southwest breezes. Highest temperatures 6 to 9 degrees.
Dry with clear spells tonight. Lowest temperatures zero to 6 degrees, coldest and clearest across the east with some frost there. Light to moderate southwest winds will freshen later.

Cloud, wind and rain will spread from the northwest southeastwards tomorrow. Fresh to strong southwest winds ahead of the rain will veer westerly and moderate as the rain clears through the evening. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees.
Outbreaks of rain in the south and east will gradually clear on Wednesday night to give clear spells overnight, with mostly dry conditions developing. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +2 degrees with frost and ice likely, in mostly light variable breezes.
Cloudy across Atlantic counties with patchy mist and drizzle on Thursday. Dry elsewhere with some sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.
Mostly cloudy overnight with patchy rain and drizzle feeding in from the west. Mild with overnight temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees, in moderate to fresh southwest winds.
