PSNI said that they are ‘not aware of any incident as described over the last few days’

Police in Limavady are now conducting enquiries into an alleged report of a possible drugging-related incident.

In a voice note, which has been circulating on social media in the past 24 hours, an unknown woman claims that a female driver was ‘drugged’ and ‘followed’ by individuals in another vehicle.

Warning others, the woman said she was told about the alleged incident by another individual in Limavady.

She claimed that a female motorist was approached by three ‘foreign nationals’ outside a filling station on the Ballyquin Road, Limavady and was asked if she needed any painting and decorating work done.

She said the woman stated that she didn’t and was then offered a business card ‘in case she changed her mind in the future’.

It was claimed that the woman took the business card and got into her car and drove off, however she began to ‘feel unwell’ within a short space of time.

The PSNI have confirmed that they are aware of online speculation concerning an incident at a forecourt in the Ballyquinn Road area of Limavady.

Chief Inspector Adams said: “No formal report has been made to police, and we are carrying out a number of enquiries into the circumstances of what may have happened, and the nature of these reports online.

“We would therefore appeal to anyone who may have witnessed anything or has any information including CCTV or dash-cam footage to make contact with us 101, alternatively 999 in an emergency.

“If this happened to you, please come forward and make contact with us as soon as possible so that the matter can be fully investigated.”

You can also submit a report or information online using the non-emergency reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org/
