Tyrone side Rock have won the 2016 AIB Ulster Club Junior Football Championship Final. This afternoon they beat Blackhill of Monaghan 1-12 to 0-14 in a closely fought final in Newry - but only after extra time. In the semi-finals Blackhill beat the Donegal champions Downings who had overcome Derry champions Magilligan in the quarter-finals. In an absorbing battle, the Blackhill led 0-5 to 0-4 at half-time. At full time it was nine points apiece. The game went to extra time and at the end of the first period Rock led 1-12 to 0-11 - a significant four-point advantage. Blackhill gave it their all but in the end lost out by a single point, 1-12 to 0-14. Rock have now made history by becoming the first club to win the junior title on three occasions.
