Motorists advised to expect delays as Easter commemorations take place in Co Derry

A number of Easter commemorations will take place on Sunday and Monday.

Motorists are being advised to expect delays as a number of commemorations are expected to take place in County Derry over the Easter period.

On Easter Sunday, delays are expected in the Loup from 3pm as participants and supporters arrive for a parade.

The parade will assemble at St Patricks Chapel, Ballyneill Road and proceed along Ballyneill Road, Ruskey Road and Loup Road. Returning via the same route to conclude at around 4pm.

A parade is also taking place in Bellaghy on Easter Sunday with delays are expected from 3pm as participants and supporters assemble at Bellaghy Bawn.

The parade will leave Bellaghy Bawn and proceed along, Castle Street, William Street, Ballynease Road and into St Mary's Church grounds and is expected to disperse at around 5pm.

Meanwhile, delays are expected in Swatragh on Easter Monday from 2pm onwards as a parade is due to take place.

Participants and supporters will assemble at Kilrea Road before proceeding along Kilrea Road, Main Street onto Moneysharvan Road and arriving at Granaghan Chapel.

The parade will make a return journey back along Moneysharvan Road, Main Street to finish at Kilrea Road dispersing around 4pm.
