DERRY men Stephen Barker and David Hassan have both been drafted into the new GAA Central Committees by President John Horan. Hassan, a native of Banagher, has been called in as Chairman of the Standing Committee on the playing rules. The former Derry goalkeeper and goalkeeping coach is a Professor at Ulster University. Barker is the current Derry CCC Chairman and has been responsible for the revamp of club structures in the county. He is a long-serving and current goalkeeper with Moneymore, where he has also served at committee level. Both are appointed on three year terms, following Dublin man Horan's ratification as Uachtarán at last weekend's congress. Former Kilkenny Chairman Ned Quinn will head the CCCC with Westmeath's Matt Shaw in charge of the Hearings Committee.
