Liverpool winger Trent Kone-Doherty looks set to leave Anfield, despite being offered a new contract.

The Derry teenager is into his fourth season with Liverpool but, despite making his first-team debut a year ago, he is now expected to depart.

It is understood the 19-year-old is subject of strong interest from clubs including Molde FK, who play in the Norwegian Eliteserien.

Liverpool have offered Kone-Doherty a new contract but, with his terms expiring at the end of June, the left winger is exploring the possibility of a mid-season exit.

Though the transfer window is closed for clubs in the Premier League, it remains open in Norway until April 1.

Despite interest from Molde, Kone-Doherty has continued to train with the Liverpool U21s.

Molde are currently preparing for the new Eliteserien campaign which begins on March 14 against Rosenborg, though they kick off the 2026 season with a cup clash with Bodo/Glimt next weekend.

They are under the interim management of Martin Falk but a long-term appointment has already been made with Sindre Tjelmeland taking over when his contract with Lech Poznan expires in May.

Kone-Doherty has become a key player for the Liverpool U21s since his £150,000 move from Derry City in 2022.

Earlier this month he made a record-breaking appearance for the U19s, becoming the Liverpool player with the most appearances in UEFA Youth League history.

The Republic of Ireland U21 international has featured once for the senior side this season, coming off the bench in the 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup in October.
