Derry Magistrate's Court
A man has been refused bail at Derry Magistrate's Court charged with breaching his restraining order and stalking his former partner.
Daryl O'Donnell (47) of Belvedere Park in Derry was charged with the offences that occurred in November last year when he allegedly repeatedly breached the conditions of his bail by attempting to communicate with his former partner via social media.
He was also said to have followed her in his car and attempted to get in contact via relatives, including her son.
Police objected to bail as O'Donnell was said to have committed offences against the same injured party every month for over a year, starting in January last year.
He has also been in and out of police custody throughout that time.

Defence Barrister Michael Donaghey said that O'Donnell was 'no stranger to this court' and said that, in his last appearance, he had four cases pending against him relating to the same alleged injured party but that three of those cases have now been dealt with.
He added that the offences generally happen due to alcohol and social media, but that O'Donnell has not drank in months and has deleted his social media accounts.
Bail was refused and he will appear again on May 7.
