IN PICTURES: Gaelcholáiste Dhoire talent recognised at GAA Awards

The number of Gaelcholáiste Dhoire pupils who are gaining recognition for their sporting achievements is rising and this year was no exception

Niamh Nig Uiginn

Niamh is a 5th year pupil who plays her club camogie with Robert Emmett’s Slaughtneil. From a young age, she has consistently impressed with her performances on the pitch, often covering every blade of grass from her usual midfield role.

She was the co-captain of the Derry U14 All Ireland winning team in 2023 and she is a current member of the Derry U16 squad, having picked up an All Ireland U16 B Championship medal last year.

She captained her school to win the Sciath Bhríde Junior competition this year, while also winning player of the match in the Rosina McManus cup final with the senior team. She is a committed and determined player who acts as a role model on every team she plays on.
