Police appeal for witnesses as women who died in separate crashes are named

Two women killed in separate crashes have been named by police.

Leanne Thomas, 43, died following a two-vehicle crash on the main Dungannon-Cookstown road in Co Tyrone shortly before 5pm on Thursday.

Ms Thomas, whom the PSNI said was from the local area, was a passenger in one of the cars.

The male drivers of both vehicles and a young child who was travelling in the other car were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

In a separate incident, 35-year-old Annemarie (Annie) McWilliams from the Kilrea area died following a two-vehicle collision on the Windyhill Road in Macosquin, near Coleraine, Co Londonderry, at about 3.10pm on Friday.

Police have appealed for witnesses of both collisions to come forward.
