Pocket money row lands teen in Derry Court for bail breach

The girl breached her bail conditions by threatening staff at a Children's Home

A 15-year-old girl has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with breaching her bail. 

The girl who cannot be named due to her age was charged with breaching her bail conditions by threatening staff at a Children's Home. 

The court was told that it was a condition of her bail that she did not threaten staff and after an argument about pocket money the girl is alleged to have told a staff member to shut up or she would 'stick a knife in your neck'.

The girl was also said to have threatened 'to wreck the house'.

She was also said to have told a member of staff that if she wasn't given her pocket money she was 'going to rip her head off'.

Defence counsel Stephen Chapman said that there were no new offences in the case and that tge girl would dispute some of the allegations made against her.

The girl was re-released on the same bail conditions and will appear again on April 21.
