'All are most welcome' - Funeral details announced for TV legend Julian Benson's funeral

The funeral arrangements for Irish TV legend Julian Benson, the beloved former Dancing with the Stars judge, have been announced.

Julian, aged 54, passed away peacefully at St Vincent's University Hospital on April 18 surrounded by his family and closest friends.

A renowned dancer, choreographer, and talent agent, he was widely admired not only for his professional achievements but also for his warmth, resilience, and unwavering positivity in the face of a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis.

Originally from Australia and long based in Dublin, Julian was predeceased by his mother Maura. He is deeply mourned by his brother Adrian, sister-in-law Rachel, nieces Leah and Ailbhe, nephew Cian, and his extended family, as well as many close friends and a wide circle of admirers.

In his death notice on RIP.ie, Julian's family extended heartfelt thanks to the medical teams who supported him throughout his life, especially the cystic fibrosis team at St Vincent's Hospital, the transplant team at Beaumont Hospital, and the ICU staff at St Vincent's who cared for him in his final days.

They described him as having lived "a full and extraordinary life" and asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Julian Benson CF Foundation — a charity Julian founded to support others living with cystic fibrosis.

"The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all the care teams who helped Julian live a full and extraordinary life, in particular: the incredible Cystic Fibrosis team at St. Vincent's University Hospital, whose expertise and compassion supported Julian throughout his life; the transplant team at Beaumont Hospital, whose care gave Julian renewed energy and allowed him to see his dream realised and the ICU team at St. Vincent's, who cared for Julian with tenderness and kindness during his final days."

His family previously said: "Julian passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and closest friends, after a courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis. His strength, warmth, and sparkle remained with him until the very end."

Julian will repose at Fanagans Funeral Home on Aungier Street this Friday, April 25, from 5pm to 7pm. A Requiem Mass will take place the following morning, Saturday, April 26, at 11am in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook, with burial afterwards in Glasnevin Cemetery.
