No Irish Rail services available today due to Storm Èowyn
Irish Rail has issued service updates amid 'one of the worst storms' to hit Ireland.
Storm Éowyn brings destructive gusts in excess of 130km/h with warnings of danger to life, extremely dangerous travelling conditions, unsafe working conditions, disruption and cancellations to transport, many fallen trees, significant and widespread power outages, impacts to communications networks, according to Met Éireann.
The status red warning is valid: 07:00 Friday 24/01/2025 to 14:00 Friday 24/01/2025 with further updates to follow.
"No trains operating until further notice," Irish Rail said on social media on Friday January 24th.
"As Status Red clears, our crews mobilising to check & clear lines for safe operation," Irish Rail added.
Irish Rail is said it is expecting fallen trees to disrupt services and damage to level crossings and overhead lines.
Irish Rail said it will update it's customers as soon as routes open once again.
"We are urging customers not to undertake any travel without checking that services are operational," Irish Rail said.
Customers with bookings for cancelled services will be automatically refunded, according to Irish Rail
Iarnród Éireann hopes to operate all rail services on Saturday 25th January.

However, this will be dependent on our engineers assessment of any issues once Storm Éowyn has passed.
During Status Red weather warnings on Friday 24th January for #StormÉowyn, there will be NO Intercity, DART or Commuter train services on the Iarnród Éireann network, with significant disruption likely afterwards also.
