Motorcyclist, 30s, dies after crash in Co Mayo

A motorcyclist has died following a collision in Co Wicklow.

Gardaí are investigating a single-vehicle fatal road traffic collision involving a motorcycle that occurred shortly before 10pm on Thursday, June 20 on the R756 at Turlough Hill, Wicklow Gap, Co. Wicklow.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The body has since been removed from the scene and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.

The R756 at Turlough Hill is currently closed with local diversions in place and a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators will be conducted this morning.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Turlough Hill area between 9:30pm and 10pm on Thursday 20th June 2024 are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
