A clean-up will take place this weekend around Enagh Lough on the outskirts of Derry. The clean-up will take place from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, January 17. It has been organised by Enagh Youth Forum who have appealed for people to come and lend a hand. “We will assemble at Judges Road from 2.00pm. If you can spare a few hours please get in touch and do one thing to help protect the local wildlife and environment at Enagh Lough,” said a spokesperson for the group. "I would encourage everyone to come out and support this winter clean-up of Enagh Lough. “This is an area of great natural beauty and it is everyones responsibility to help look after it. “We are also continuing to lobby Council to invest in the area by providing much needed changing facilities for the many schools, colleges and youth groups that utilize the area for canoeing, kayaking and outdoor learning. “This is something that the local community has long requested and it is outlined in our community plan Strathfoyle 2015-2020.” Safety cover will be provided by Foyle Search & Rescue’s Specialist Swiftwater Team. For more information on the clean-up, contact Paul Hughes at Enagh Youth Forum on 71860377.
