Funeral today of former Derry republican prisoner John Quigley

The funeral will take place today of one of Derry’s best known former republican prisoners, John Quigley. The 63-year-old (pictured) passed away peacefully in Altnagelvin Hospital on Tuesday. His funeral will leave his home at 4 Greenwalk in Creggan at 11.20am for Requiem Mass at noon in the nearby St Mary’s Church. He will be laid to rest immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. The son of the late Barry and Maisie, he is survived by his brothers Declan, Terry, Paul, Kevin, Stephen, Brendan, Gerard, Billy and Jim and sisters Mary and Margaret. He was predeceased by his brothers Barry and Tony.
