Police have advised of traffic and travel arrangements for events planned across the North Coast area on St Patrick’s Day. A number of ‘feeder parades’ will take place before and after the Ancient Order of Hibernians demonstration in Aughnacloy. In Dungiven, St Canice’s AOH will take part in ‘feeder parades’ at about 10.40am and again at 7.00pm. In Rasharkin there will be parades by Gortighey AOH at 10.15am; Rossnashane AOH at 10.45am and Sons of Ireland Flute Band at 10.45am. The three organisations will have return parades in Kilrea between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Sons of Ireland Flute Band will also parade in Rasharkin at 7.30pm. There will also be parades in Feeny at 11,00am and again at 6.30pm. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys. Large crowds are also expected for St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Portstewart. Motorists are advised to allow extra time and to take extra care when encountering pedestrians. In Coleraine, the Ulster Protestant Boys Flute Band will host a parade that will assemble at Killowen Orange Hall at about 8.00pm. At least 50 bands are expected to attend and the parade around the town is scheduled to commence at 8.30pm.
