Bus gets stuck at the bottom of Fountain Hill, one of the steepest streets in Derry

bus
A bus became stuck this evening on one of the steepest streets in Derry. The bus was driving down Fountain Hill when it became wedged on the bottom of the Waterside hill. It is believed the bus was transporting people to the MTV concert in nearby Ebrington Square. Buses and other large vehicles would not normally travel down the one-way Fountain Hill because of its steepness. Given that knowledge, it is understood that the driver was not familiar with the local area. The bus incident caused significant traffic disruption around the Fountain Hill and Spencer Road areas. However, it is understood that the area has now returned to normal. Photo above courtesy of Sean O’Loughlin.
