Last chance to have a pint in one of Derry's most popular bars as 'Spoons' in The Diamond set to close its doors for the last time

Patrons will have their last chance to have a pint in one of Derry's most popular bars with Wetherspoon's in The Diamond set to close it's doors for the final time this weekend. The bar will cease trading as a Wetherspoon's on Sunday May 21st. 'The Diamond' bar was purchased by the Granny Annie's group late last year. It is not yet known if the change over will include a period of closure or what plans the group has for the bar. The group did announce that they intended to continue to run them as bars and staff at the bars will be transferred to the new owner so there will be no job losses. The closing date of Derry's other Wetherspoon's bar 'The Ice Wharf' on Strand Road has yet to be confirmed.
