The new owner of a prominent bar in Derry has said there are ‘big plans’ for the establishment.
Kevin Daly was speaking after taking over ownership of the Shantallow House, located on the Racecourse Road.
Speaking to the Derry News at the weekend, Mr Daly, who owns Tracy’s Bar and the Dungloe Bar in Waterloo Street, said that he is planning a ‘major revamp’ of the premises.
“It has a lot of potential, so we’re planning a major revamp of the bar and the entire premises,” he said.
“We have big plans for the bar, and we’re looking at putting a bistro in there which will serve hot food to customers, as well as providing the best entertainment.”
“Live sport will also be broadcast, and we have big plans for the place.”
Mr Daly added that work is now underway at the building, and he hopes to be open for business in early December.
Meanwhile, the Sinn Fein MEP Elisha McCallion said that the announcement was ‘great news’ for the community.
