Toys R Us have announced that their Derry store is 'likely to close in Spring 2018. The Derry Toys R Us store is located at the Crescent Link Retail Park and it is expected a number of staff will lose their jobs when the store closes. The company announced earlier today that it is to close at least 26 of its stores in the UK by Spring 2018. The move comes after the firm instigated a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA). A Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) allows a company with debt problems or that is insolvent to reach a voluntary agreement with its business creditors regarding repayment of its corporate debts over an agreed period of time. A Toys R Us spokesperson said: “It is likely that the Toys R Us store in Derry will close in the Spring of 2018. We will continue to honour gift cards and Take Time To Pay agreements and there will be no change to our returns policy.”
