Man recently released from prison charged with indecent exposure in Altnagelvin Hospital

Altnagelvin Hospital.

A man who was released from prison last week has appeared at Derry Magistrates' Court charged with indecent exposure in Altnagelvin Hospital. 
Jack Farthing (38) of no fixed abode was charged with exposing himself to a female in the hospital on March 21.
A police officer connected the accused to the charge and opposed bail. 
The court was told staff in the A&E department contacted police about a male exposing himself in a waiting areain front of staff and patients. 
He was said to have earlier walked out of the toilets with his genitals exposed to members of the public including child.
He had withhim a half bottle of alcohol which he was continually drinking from.
He was arrested for indecent exposure and told police he had been sleeping in a bus shelter since his release. 
The police officer said that the defendant lasted 5 says since his release and opposed bail. 
Defence solicitor Paddy McGurk said that he felt his client would benefit from probation and this sentiment had been shared by a judge who had dealt with Farthing recently. 
District Judge Oonagh Mullan said that the previous judge could rule on the case and adjourned the case to Coleraine Court on March 30.
