Derry man returned for trial over robbery and police assault charges

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on charges of robbery, assault and assaulting police following a Preliminary Enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court.

James Kelly (38) of Duncreggan Road in Derry was charged with the offences that were said to have occurred on August 16 last year.

It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

Kelly chose not to submit any statements and not to call any witnesses.

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on April 28.
