A man who was caught spray painting a wall at a city centre travel agent has been given a suspended sentence at Derry Magistrates' Court.
Declan Grimes (35) of Campion Court in Derry admitted a charge of criminal damage that occurred on January 26 this year.
The court heard that police were alerted to a man spray painting the travel agents premises.
They located Grimes who matched the description of the perpetrator and spoke to the owner of the premises who said the damage was put at £400.
Defence solicitor Paddy Clay said his client had 'little recollection' of the incident due to addiction issues.
He said that Grimes had made full admissions.
Grimes was given a three months jail sentence suspended for 18 months and ordered to pay £400 in compensation.
