Derry Court
A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with non fatal strangulation and assaults on a female.
Michael Cullen (19) of Top of the Hill in Derry was charged with three assaults against the same female on dates between January 1 and February 9 2026.
He was also charged with possessing a knife with intent to commit an indictable offence, non fatal strangulation of the same female, harassment and domestic abuse all over the same time period.
A police officer connected the accused to the charges and told the court that bail was not opposed but the proposed address was.
Defence counsel Sinead Rogan asked the court to grant bail to an address approved by the PSNI.

Bail was agreed subject to police approval of an address and on condition the defendant has no contact with the alleged injured party.
He will appear again next month.
