The Western Health and Social Care Trust’s Arthroplasty Team, based at Altnagelvin Hospital, has been recognised as a 2025 Silver Level National Joint Registry (NJR) Quality Data Provider.

Nichola Cairns, Assistant Nursing Services Manager at the Western Trust said: “Congratulations to the Arthroplasty Team on receiving silver accreditation in the NJR Quality Data Provider Awards 2025.  The Arthroplasty Team work as part of a multidisciplinary team of orthopaedic consultants, registrars, nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists to diagnose, treat and manage joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis.

"I am extremely proud of the excellent work done by our staff and the impact this makes on our patients who undergo surgical, orthopaedic procedures at Altnagelvin Hospital every day.

“Meeting these NJR targets requires a strong effort department wide and this award is a way of recognition by NJR to thank all staff who have worked hard to achieve compliance targets during the 2024/25 data quality audit year.  Well done to everyone involved!”
