Derry’s Bentley Group sets new standard for designated driver safety

The Bentley Group has launched a new designated driver campaign across all of its venues, offering a complimentary 0.0 alcohol-free bottle to drivers – not just over the festive period, but all year round.

The initiative is simple: anyone acting as the designated driver can show their car key at the bar and receive a complimentary alcohol-free bottle, no purchase required.

The move is aimed at normalising choice for customers who are driving or choosing not to drink, while quietly promoting safer nights out across the city.

A spokesperson for The Bentley Group said: “We wanted to do something that felt practical and genuine. Not everyone who comes out wants to drink alcohol, and nobody should feel pressured to. If you’re driving, this is just a small way of saying thanks.”

The campaign is being rolled out across all Bentley Group venues, including The Bentley Bar, The Gate Bistro, The Cosh, Link 47, The Magnet and The Embankment Bar & Grill.

Unlike many seasonal initiatives, the group has confirmed the designated driver offer will remain in place permanently.

“This isn’t a Christmas offer or a short-term promotion,” the spokesperson added. “It’s something we’re committing to long-term. Whether it’s a weekday dinner, a big night out or a casual drink with friends, designated drivers are always welcome.”

The Bentley Group hopes the campaign will help encourage safer decision-making.
