£250,000 fraud case involving Donegal woman adjourned at Derry Magistrate's Court

Derry Magistrate's Court

A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with breaching a non molestation order by approaching the new partner of his former partner.

Patrick McCahey (38) of Rockmills in Derry was charged with breaching the order on December 15.

A police officer connected the accused to the charge and opposed bail.

The court was told that the former partner who has an interim non molestation order against McCahey reported that the defendant had approached her new partner in Rockmills and told him to tell her to drop the order or else 'you are f----d'.

At interview McCahey denied speaking to the man.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said there was no attempt to speak to the woman and added he would be contesting the non molestation order.

District Judge Oonagh Mullan said she would release McCahey with a final warning.

McCahey will appear again on January 14.
