Derry Magistrate's Court
A man who was in Derry for the Halloween celebrations has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court where he admitted a charge of disorderly behavior.
Dwayne Clarke (29) of Coach Road, Portaferry in Co. Down was charged with the offence that occurred on Halloween night when staff at the hotel he was staying in called the police about his behavior.
When police arrived, Clarke was said to be intoxicated and acting in an aggressive manner, initially refusing to identify himself.
When escorted outside, he refused to leave the area at first, shouting at members of the public before eventually walking away.
Ten minutes later, police were once again called as he had returned to the hotel and was acting in a disruptive manner towards staff and shouting at police.
When interviewed, he claimed to have no memory of the incident but was remorseful and pleaded guilty.
Defence Barrister Stephen Chapman said that police had been 'very patient' when dealing with Clarke, but he didn't listen to their warnings.
A pre-sentence report was ordered and he will appear again for sentencing on January 9.
