Derry man pleads 'definitely not guilty' to aggravated burglary and knife possession

A man will go on trial in February of next year after he denied a series of charges linked to an alleged aggravated burglary at Derry Crown Court

David Albert Baranowski (34) of Killymallaght Road in Derry faced a total of five charges.

He was charged with attempted aggravated burglary on a premises with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on April 10 this year.

He was also charged with possessing a knife in a public place, threatening and abusive behaviour, common assault and criminal damage on the same date.

When the charges were put to him he replied 'definitely not guilty'.

The court heard that the trial was expected to last between three to four days.

A date for the trial was set for February 9 and it will be reviewed on January 22.
