Derry Magistrate's Court
A man who is due to appear at Derry Crown Court today for his arraignment on burglary and related charges has appeared at the local Magistrate's Court for breaching his bail.
Ryan McLaughlin (37) of Glenabbey Road in Derry appeared charged with breaching his curfew and a no alcohol condition.
A police officer told the court that police were called to a verbal disagreement and came across McLaughlin who was found to be in breach of his curfew and was found to have alcohol taken.
Bail was opposed due to the fact that McLaughlin had breached bail on numerous occasions.
The officer said that McLaughlin was deemed a violent offender.
Defence counsel Stephen Chapman said that the defendant had been on bail since March and was due to appear in the Crown Court today.
He said that there had been no new offences and it was just a breach of bail.
District Judge Conor Heaney re-released McLaughlin on bail to enable him to appear in the Crown Court.
