Derry's Bloody Sunday Trust is hosting a number of Derry Feile Events.

Shoot to Kill - Wednesday, August 6, at 1pm, in the  Museum of Free Derry, Glenfada Park:

The Pat Finucane Centre presents a talk exploring the background to controversial killings during the conflict, examining the evidence for a 'Shoot-to-Kill' policy sanctioned by the British Government.

Drawing on research, case studies and official documentation, the event invites discussion on the use of force by the state, its implications for accountability, and the impact on victims' families and communities.

Charles English: A Bogside Freedom Fighter - A Short Film - Wednesday, August 6, at 7.30pm, in Museum of Free Derry, Glenfada Park:

The young life and tragic death of Óglach Charles English are in many ways symbolic and symptomatic of the colonial relationship that Britain has imposed on the Irish.

His brother Gary was murdered by the British army in 1981. To this day, his family has not received the justice it deserves. In 1982, Charles decided to seek his own justice by opposing British military rule on the streets of his city.

He was killed in an explosion in 1985, a few hundred yards from where Gary was murdered.

This is his story.

Organized by the family of Charles English.

Prior to the film screening, there will be a short memorial event at the Bogside & Brandywell Monument, Lecky Road.

The Emperor Is Naked - Saturday, August 9, at 2pm, in the Museum of Free Derry, Glenfada Park.

'Are you prepared to stand naked and face the truth or choose to wrap yourself in a duvet of lies. When one sees through the corruption, the lies, the deceit, the hypocrisy of all wars, big Pharma, the media, charity ... When one sees the emperor is naked, one cannot unsee it!

Micheal John Pike (Spike Pike), is a former British soldier that has witnessed the truly ugly side of the human race.

He is now a peace activist and performance poet. He is a polemic hard hitting writer, he takes no prisoners when attacking the psychopaths that profit from war, sanctions and famine.

Discussion chaired by Martina Anderson.

Moon Tell Me Truth Exhibition Launch - Thursday, August 14, at 7pm, in the  Museum of Free Derry, Glenfada Park.

The Moon Tell Me Truth exhibition, curated by the Hands Up Project, features 60 illustrated poems created by children from Gaza. Most are now displaced, their homes and schools destroyed, and at least two were killed in Israeli airstrikes. This deeply moving exhibition gives local people the chance to read these words, written just before their world was torn apart.

Museum of Free Derry curator Adrian Kerr said: “We are very proud to host this deeply moving exhibition and to give local people the chance to read these words from children in Palestine, written just before their world was brutally torn apart by the
Israeli onslaught on their homes, but in a year - 2023 - that was already by then the most dangerous on
record for Palestinian children until the current genocide.

"We are all aware of the specific impact of the ongoing genocide on children in Palestine, with tens of thousands already dead, and it is very fitting that we host this exhibition as a follow up to Layan's Steps.”

The exhibition is curated by the Hands Up Project, an organisation “committed to social justice, global citizenship, and freedom of expression, and upholds the belief that language learning is enhanced through creativity, performance and collaborative interaction.”

The project works with children and teachers in Palestine and other areas to support educational and creative projects.
