Man returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on sexual abuse charges

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a number of sexual abuse charges following a Preliminary Enquiry at Derry Magistrates Court.

The man, who cannot be named, was charged with multiple counts of indecent assault of a female and rape between December 1998 and October 2007.

It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

He chose not to submit any statements and not to call any witnesses.

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on September 4.
