Derry school pays tribute to member of staff after 'sudden passing'

St Columb's College have paid tribute to a staff member who sadly passed away earlier this week.

Mrs. Margaret Quigley (née Curran), late of 43 Clon Dara and formerly of 21 Moss Park, sadly passed away on Thursday, July 17, suddenly at Altnagelvin Hospital.

Posting on Facebook, St Columb's College principal Caroline McLaughlin said: “I regret to inform you of the death of one of our staff members, Mrs. Margaret Quigley, who passed away yesterday (Thursday).

“Margaret was a member of our canteen staff since 1993. Margaret will be sadly missed by all in the College community.

“St Columb's College offer Margaret's family all our support and prayers at this time.

“May Margaret rest in peace.”

Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Jimmy. Devoted mother of Frances, Christine, Noel and Jimmy. Dearest mother-in-law of Ryan, Eugene, Lyndsey and May. Loving granny of Lauren, Sarah, Shea, Odhrán, Cahir, Aoibheann and Maisy. A much loved sister to her all of her brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Margaret's remains will be reposing at her late home, 43 Clon Dara, Skeoge Road from 1.00pm this afternoon (Saturday, July 19).

Funeral leaving from there on Monday, July 21 at 10:20am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in St. Joseph's Church, Galliagh. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
