Derry Magistrate's Court
A man has been given a suspended sentence at Derry Magistrates Court charged with disorderly behavior and obstruction of police.
John Meehan (31) of Foyle Road in Derry was charged with the offences that occurred on June 21 2024.
Police arrived on the scene in the Guildhall Square and found Meehan to be shouting and screaming.
Police attempted to get him to stop but these efforts were repeatedly ignored, leading to his arrest.
Defence Barrister Sinead Rogan said that Meehan was dealing with addiction and 'significant' health issues at the time of the offences.
