Rowdy scenes at Derry Magistrate's Court as anti lock down protesters disrupted proceedings

Derry Magistrates' Court

A judge has said at Derry Magistrates' Court that there is "far too much" disorderly behaviour coming before the courts.

His comments came during the case of Patrick McCallion (34) of Rossnagalliagh Park in Derry who admitted a charge of disorderly behavior on April 25 this year.

The court heard that police were in an area and as they were leaving McCallion started shouting at the driver of the vehicle.

Police spoke to him about his language and he continued to shout and called police 'British b------s'.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said that his client was now in paid employment.

District Judge Ted Magill said McCallion had 68 previous convictions. He told the defendant "you had drink and you behaved in an appalling fashion".

McCallion was fined £250.
