Man facing charges of sexual assault of girl under 13 returned to Derry Crown Court

The faces two charges of sexual assault on a female child under 13 years of age on dates between July 25 2016 and July 28 2016

A man with an address in England has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on sex offences.

The man who cannot be identified in order to protect the identity of the alleged victim in the case appeared at a Preliminary Enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court today. 

He faces two charges of sexual assault on a female child under 13 years of age on dates between July 25 2016 and July 28 2016.

It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. 

The man was askeddid he wish to call any witnesses or make any statement and replied 'not at this time'.

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on July 4 and released on bail.
