Leading Derry dissident republican Thomas Ashe Mellon will contest three charges of failing to notify police under the Anti-Terrorism legislation. 

Mellon (49) of Rathmore Road in Derry is charged with three counts of failing to notify police under the legislation on dates between July 19 2019 and October 22 2024.

At today's sitting of Derry Magistrate's Court the court was told that a date for the contest could be fixed. 

Defence counsel Stephen Mooney for Mellon said the contest would last less than an hour.

The contest was fixed for July 22 and Mellon is on continuing bail.
