Man returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on furious driving charge

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a charge of furious driving. 

Shane Coyle (26) of Kingsmere Gardens in Derry appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local Magistrates' Court charged with on August 14, 2023 while in charge of a bike caused by wilful misconduct bodily harm to a female on the Belt Road area of the city.

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. 

Coyle said he did not wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. 

Defence counsel Stephen Mooney said in his 20 years of practice he had not come across that charge.

Coyle was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on May 28 and released on bail.
