Brook Hall Estate & Gardens to host open weekend to raise critical funds for charity

Brook Hall Estate & Gardens is set to host the National Garden Scheme Open Garden Weekend for a third time this April to raise vital money for various health charities.

Last year the hugely successful charity event raised almost £2,500 for a number of charities and they hope to make an even bigger impact this time when it returns on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April.

The general public will be able to see inside the private arboretum and gardens of the stunning 18th century historic estate during the open weekend in order to raise funds for both the National Garden Scheme (NGS) charity and the local Foyle Hospice. The Foyle Hospice will also be providing refreshments over the weekend.

The charity event will add a new feature to this year's open weekend with a plant sale organised by Altnagelvin Garden Centre, the proceeds of which will also go towards charity.

The NGS gives visitors unique access to over 3,500 exceptional private gardens across the UK and raises huge amounts of money for nursing and health charities through its admissions and refreshments.

Through the generosity of visitors, garden owners and volunteers the NGS has raised over £74 million for charities and in 2024 alone donated over £3.5 million. Some of their main beneficiaries include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.

The gardens will be open from 2pm to 5pm on both days and booking is available online or tickets can be purchased on the day. Admission is just £5 per adult and children go free.
