A man caught drug-driving in Burnfoot has been handed a one-year driving ban.

Eamon Plummer appeared before Buncrana District Court charged with drug-driving in relation to an incident at Ballyderowen, Burnfoot on February 11, 2024.

Inspector Jonathan Sweeney told the court that the reading was positive for both cannabis and cocaine when Gardai performed a drug-driving test on Plummer.

Mr Frank Dorrian, solicitor for the accused, said his client is a young man and this charge will “bring with it its own consequences”.

Plummer, a 19-year-old of Ferndale Park, Derry, was accompanied by his parents in court.

Judge Cunningham fined Plummer €200 and there was consent to use the bail money. Plummer was also disqualified from driving for one year.
