Derry Court told three men charged with aiding and abetting support for IRA will plead not guilty

Three men charged with aiding and abetting a show of support for a proscribed organisation namely the IRA will be pleading not guilty Derry Magistrate's Court heard today. 

Christopher Gillen (44) of Balbane Pass, William Martin McDonnell (38) of Circular Road both in Derry and Kevin O'Kane (35) of Grannagh Park in Limavady are all charged with aiding and abetting support for the IRA on dates between April 8 and April 11 2023.

At today's hearing defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott for Gillen said there would be not guilty pleas for all three.

He said there was a large volume of papers in the case and asked for an adjournment so a date could be fixed for a contest.

A prosecutor agreed to the adjournment and the case against all three was adjourned until April 9 to fix a date for a contest.

All three are currently on bail for these charges.
