St Cecilia’s College in Derry has become the first school in Ireland to launch Careers AI Chatbot “CiCi”.

The service offers multilingual support, translating into 100+ languages, text-to-speech technology, and the option for users to download their career exploration journey, engage with career guidance staff at St Cecilia’s College.

CiCi was developed by Dr Deirdre Hughes OBE, a leading international careers specialist, who has worked in four UK universities and has written over 125 articles and book chapters.

She is an Associate Professor at the University of Warwick, Institute for Employment Research (IER) and Director of dmh associates.

"We believe this will transform Careers Advice and Guidance within St Cecilia’s College; AI will assist the teachers in providing quality meaningful tailored careers advice to our pupils," a press release said.

CiCi sets itself apart by prioritising 24/7 personalised career exploration, featuring conversation flows and videos mirroring the typical careers information and advice interactions between careers practitioners and clients.
