Derry Magistrates Court
A solicitor told Derry Magistrates Court that 'chivalry was not dead' after the court heard how a man arrested for another matter told police that a woman in his company had Xanax in her purse.
Amy Tracey (37) of St Brecan's Park in Derry was charged with possessing Xanax on February 15.
The court heard that police attended St Brecan's Park on an unrelated matter and arrested a man and Tracey was present.
While he was being processed the man told police that Tracey had Xanax in her purse.
Police investigated and found a small quantity of Xanax in the woman's purse.
The man claimed the Xanax belonged to Tracey and she said the drug belonged to him.
Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said that Tracey had put the drugs in her purse when she saw police.
He said it was heartening see there were still 'a few good men' and that there was still chivalry in the world.
