A man from Letterkenny in County Donegal, who is due to be sentenced in Derry Crown Court in March for a charge of attempted sexual communication with a child, has been remanded in custody after he lost his bail address.

Patrick Kelly (36) of Drumcavany in Letterkenny pleaded guilty in October to a charge of attempted sexual communication with a child on dates between February 21 and February 25, 2024.

At today's sitting of Derry Magistrates' Court a defence barrister, Sinead Rogan, said her client had lost his bail address and accepted this was a breach.

A police officer confirmed that this was so and said Kelly had handed himself in to the PSNI in Strabane.

A remand in custody was requested as there was no address available and Kelly was remanded in custody to appear for sentencing at Derry Crown Court on March 5.
