No decision in case of leading Derry dissident republican charged with anti terror law breach

There is still no decision in the case of leading Derry dissident republican Thomas Ashe Mellon, who is charged with breaching anti terrorism legislation, Derry Magistrates' Court heard today.

Mellon (49) of Rathmore Road in Derry is charged with three counts of failing to notify police of details under anti-terrorism legislation. 

The breaches were said to have occurred on July 18, 2019 and March 9, 2024.

At today's hearing a prosecutor said that a request for information was due back on February 11.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott asked for an adjournment until February 19 and said that there could possibly be a decision on that date. 

Mellon is currently on bail.
