Appeal for witnesses after 'significant damage' caused to bus in Derry

The bus was travelling on Trench Road in the Waterside when a number of young people threw what looked like bricks at the vehicle

Police in Derry are appealing for witnesses and information after a bus was damaged on Saturday evening, January 11.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "It was reported at approximately 9.30pm, as the bus was travelling on Trench Road in the Waterside, a number of young people threw what looked like bricks at the vehicle.

"Significant damage was caused to the vehicle’s front and side windows. While no injuries were reported, this was a shocking ordeal for the driver and any passenger/s.

"Police appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened or who has video, dash-cam or CCTV footage of the area during this time to call 101 and quote reference number 1522 11/01/25 or make a report online via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport A report can also be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
