St Cecilia’s College has launched its new Wellbeing Hub with Caoimhe Watson being introduced as the school's wellbeing lead.
During the event, principal, Mary-Jo O’Carolan shared the school’s continuous effort and hard work that goes into helping their students thrive by supporting their wellbeing – in particular the placement of the wellbeing lead at Key Stage 5 level.
Ms O'Carolan said: “We were honoured to have Mr Neil Guckian, OBE - Chief Executive, Western Health and Social Care Trust as our keynote speaker. During his inspiring speech, he emphasised the importance of supporting young people with their wellbeing.
“Our team members at mdeducational foundation, Deirdre Doherty, Director of Schools and Partnership, Coleen McLaughlin Senior Administrative Officer were thrilled to be part of this significant day at St. Cecilia’s.”
The mdeducational foundation are supporting St Cecilia’s College in kickstarting their long-term wellbeing strategy, by providing this funding for the wellbeing lead placement.
Students shared some of their experiences engaging with their wellbeing lead, Caoimhe at the Wellbeing Hub, with one saying: “Thank you for the safe and calming atmosphere,” with another year 13 pupil adding that: “The Wellbeing Hub gives us a space to unwind from the stresses of everyday life. Caoimhe is very welcoming to us all”.
