The scene of a major search operation in the Burt area
A major operation involving both the Gardai and the Irish Defence Forces is continuing on farmlands in the Burt area.
A search operation centering on a rural farm in the border area began earlier on Thursday. Sheds and outbuildings and lands are being combed by gardai and soldiers.
The nature of the search has not been disclosed with gardai staying tight-lipped on the matter.
Uniformed gardai and detectives are involved in the operation.
Specialised officers are also understood to have been deployed to assist from outside Donegal.
Members of the Irish Defence Forces were also posted to the remote location to aid.
